A Glimpse into Sam's Day

From/After/That day on, Sam became much more cautious/careful/thoughtful. He understood/realized/learned the importance/value/significance of being safe/secure/protected.
His New Friend
Sam was experiencing a little lonely. He wished to have a new friend to play with. One day, while he was running in the woods, he noticed something unusual. It was a little being with colorful feathers. Sam quietly approached the creature and said, "Hello! What's your title?" The creature grinned and answered Sam, "My name is Lily!" And so, Sam made a new companion. They spent the rest of the day talking together.
Sam was so happy to have found a new friend. He knew that he and Lily would be great pals forever.
